Le dossier à forme dite de 'fer à cheval', le montant avant de l'assise orné d'un décor sculpté de dragons stylisés. Renforts en cuivre fixés pour protéger les arêtes. Le dossier présentant des médaillons de sculptures en léger relief à motif de signe Shou de longévité et de dragons stylisés.

CHINA, XIX-XXth century. A huanghuali folding horseshoe back armchair. The elegantly rounded crestrail terminating in outswept handrests and supported by curved extensions of the front legs inset with shaped spandrels and set into the rectangular base stretchers, the front stretcher beneath a footrest mounted with a central huangtong plaque of three interlocked lozenges, with an elaborately carved backsplat, decorated with a central pierced panel.
