A cylindrical and elegant bamboo basket for flower arrangement (Hanakago) in light colored bamboo with a double handle for which a tight, openwork hexagonal weaving technique (mutsume ami). Different techniques used for upper and lower rims. Signed: Chikuyosai, a well-known mid-20th century bamboo artist from Kyoto.
